Hi, I'm Helen. Welcome to my Website.

I live in the country in North  Eastern Victoria (Australia) not far from  Albury/Wodonga.

I’ve been working with clay since the mid-nineties.

My life is slow and busy,  simple and contemplative.

I divide my time between my home and garden, my claywork and my pottery students, my imagination and my making.

Apart from clay I like to dabble in drawing, origami and dressmaking. We have a productive vegetable garden and I like cooking.

I’m predominantly a vessel maker, both functional and decorative.

My simple bowls and flatware are Zen inspired.  ‘Keeping it simple’ is my mantra.

For my decorative work I like ‘primitive’ decorating and firing techniques - bonfiring, blackfiring, and simple raku firing.

For my more sculptural work, busts and occasional wall-pieces, I sometimes use artists acrylic paints, and I have to admit to a liking for glitter.

I think beauty is an important quality.

My work is all ‘one-off’. Each piece is unique.
